Unbelievable Vector Art from Human Nature 84

Yes, this looks like Photoshop work, but it's not. It looks like blends and mesh tools were use, but they weren't. Amazing? Most definitely. Something to strive for? Yes. Hydro 74 Hardcover book

As you may know by the occasional post, I'm a fan of Joshua Smith aka Hydro74. He recently had a hardcover book of 50 illustrations on pre-order. I pre-ordered the book and I received it early from the original date it was said it was supposed to arrive. I received it and it contained some sweet looking stickers. The book is thin, but you can see all the details up close in personal. It's a good reference book, but it's good to see how he created each design. Not all of the designs are on his portfolio, but those that are, it's good that you don't have to constantly go on his site to view. It's now $45, but it's worth it. I enjoy art books by various designers/artists, so it was a treat for me.

A Nightlife Portrait

I came across Genaro De Sia Coppola's deviant art gallery and this photo definitely strikes out. Most of his images use neon colors, which pretty much screams "look at me!" and this one struck me the most.  The use of colors is great and makes you feel that person is in a club with blacklights. I think this is very well done and can be used as form of inspiration.

Free Vector Roses from Jimiyo

Artist, Jimiyo, has provided everyone some free vector roses that you can incorporate into your art. He designed a whole floral set that you can purchase at The Golden Black, as well as other good and cool stock art.

365 Days of Creativity- First 2011 illustration

Happy New Year, Everyone! I hope you had a fun holiday. This is the first post of the new year. Resolutions are silly, but goals are not. You can start a goal anytime, but the one I have in mind seems right to start on January 1st. I want to create a new sketch,design, or illustration everyday and post it. I want to put some work into it, because I could create a bunch of terrible sketches. It will be fun and difficult, but let's see how close I can come with 365 days of work. Below is the first. I wanted to create a geisha, so I drew one. All of the work was done in Photoshop, but the vector art was taken from an illustrator file. I hope you like it.

Sports Stock Art (Free Download)

Whether you believe stock art is hurting the industry or helping the designer come up with something when a rush job is given, it's important to have some tools in the arsenal. I've released three sets, Random Design Elements, Grimey Strokes & Splatter, and Flourish Designs. Here is another download for you guys. This is a small vector pack containing elements of sports. For awhile I haven't seen any sports vector art around the net and all the stock art released all were very similar and stuck with the trend that is out. So here are some designs that I had to use on certain jobs that were sports related. These are sports that are in season. When Fall comes around, I might release some fall and winter sports vectors. So enjoy the baseballs, soccer or football for every non American, lacrosse, tennis balls, the silhouettes, banner, and cap. Go get your design on!
