Starbucks Refreshes their logo
Starbuck has decided to give their logo a new look. It is important for companies to give their a logo a little update every x amount of years. Sometimes it's good and sometimes it is bad (Pepsi). There's not much difference in the new Starbucks logo and it looks as though they said, "less is more." For most cases "less is more" works and Starbucks has made a huge impact, that they could use their mascot icon. I feel it is effective and recognizable. So whoever refurbished their logo, did a good job.

Logos are emotional too!
Over at the Graphic Design blog they posted logos that showcase the emotions of happiness and sadness. The graphic designer can give life to a logo, by adding some subtle or not so subtle imagery to create the emotion they want. It becomes a very powerful logo if you can really feel the emotion in the logo. Does the graphic designer do a good job? It doesn't hurt to have a face to be the face of your company.
