Gridiron League by Wes Kull
Football season may be over(Go Giants!), but that does not mean you cannot enjoy the logos designed by Wes Kull. He created this personal project to pay homage to the vintage football logos of the past. I have to disagree with him saying that some of the newer logos for some of the teams do not do the football team justice by ignoring their heritage. He may think that they're too commercial, but I think that's fine and it still gives the logos a badass modern twist. Anyway I'm not here to argue his thought on that, but to showcase what he has done. Some of these look good and some not so much. Wes admits that not all of the teams needed a revamped logo, which I agree, but if you're going to redesign a team you might as well do them all. Phidias Gold is an clothing line that has caught my eye recently with its designs catering specifically to artists. In their about page it states that they're "an apparel brand for artists by artists." They not only have some cool and fresh tees and sweatshirts but other items like artistic bottles. Phidias Gold collaborated with artists to work on their stuff like illustrator Joe King, Dennis Brown, Orlando Sanchez, Jeremy Forson, and more. I don't know how the shirts fit or feel, but I hope they're fit well and are not so rough. T-shirts are priced at $28 and sweatshirts cost $35. Metroid x Art Nouveau at Ript Apparel
This one is a bit more of my taste, because it's a bit more artistic than other of their designs. When sites constantly post parody shirts one after another, it becomes very bland especially when some of them aren't that great. Don't get me wrong I've created some even though it's a bit rare for me to do and there are some really well done parody designs that deserve its credit, but it's good to switch it up. I can't knock them since parody shirts are very big business across the internet.
