365 Days of Creativity -Day 5
I wanted to create a cool argyle pattern with some texture. It's a gradient and I think the colors compliment each other. I would rock this. Here's a better view

Starbucks Refreshes their logo
Starbuck has decided to give their logo a new look. It is important for companies to give their a logo a little update every x amount of years. Sometimes it's good and sometimes it is bad (Pepsi). There's not much difference in the new Starbucks logo and it looks as though they said, "less is more." For most cases "less is more" works and Starbucks has made a huge impact, that they could use their mascot icon. I feel it is effective and recognizable. So whoever refurbished their logo, did a good job.

365 Days of Creativity -Day 4
This one is a pirate mascot. I always wanted to create a sports mascot, so here's my shot at one. It didn't come out that bad, but I think I need a bit more work on it. I saw a Seton Hall Pirates basketball commercial, so I figured I'd draw my own pirate mascot. I think I can do it and I'll most likely create a new one.

365 Days of Creativity -Day 3
Here's a quick sketch for today's goal. I'm still sketching away. I scanned something else, that I plan on working with color tomorrow. I just like the potential I can do with the face if I continue working on it.

Spoon Graphics "How to create detailed Gothic Linework Typography"
This tutorial is good, because takes a font, in this case a gothic font, and adds more detail to it. I believe this can help you emphasize a design that is solely on typography. So crack open your Adobe Illustrator and get crackin! To view this tutorial, click here

365 Days of Creativity -Day 2
Here is a really quick sketch I did. I'm not a fan and plan on making tomorrow's art piece a lot better. This is pretty much embarrassing.

365 Days of Creativity- First 2011 illustration
Happy New Year, Everyone! I hope you had a fun holiday. This is the first post of the new year. Resolutions are silly, but goals are not. You can start a goal anytime, but the one I have in mind seems right to start on January 1st. I want to create a new sketch, design, or illustration everyday and post it. I want to put some work into it, because I could create a bunch of terrible sketches. It will be fun and difficult, but let's see how close I can come with 365 days of work. Below is the first. I wanted to create a geisha, so I drew one. All of the work was done in Photoshop, but the vector art was taken from an illustrator file. I hope you like it.
