Day 57- This was going to be used for a Branded Baron project, but most likely will not be used. The concept was to create a baseball theme, specifically the Yankees, but use their nickname the "Bronx Bombers".
Day 58- Here are a glimpse of some different variations of a design for Branded Baron. One of these designs will most likely be printed for Branded Baron.
This is a "BOOM" in your face video. Alexandre Farto aka Vhils created these wall etchings by blowing parts of the wall up. Now this is one of those fun videos where you definitely tell people at home not to try it....not because it would be too much fun, but that they'll blow off their heads trying.
T-shirt brand Simply Complicated is having a 45% off sale UNTIL Midnight. So, if you ever wanted their shirts get it from them, now is the time to do it. Supposedly they are not having another sale until Black Friday and it's a long time to wait until November. I have a couple of their shirts and the print came out pretty good and their shirts are no longer American Apparel. I actually prefer them to be American Apparel, instead of the Alstyle tee, but most streetwear brands rock Alstyle, so you have to go with what your market uses. They have some cool designs, so rock them.
Use "FINALCOUNTDOWN" in the discount code area for that 45% off. http://scapparel.net/
Most album covers consist of the artist, band, or group having their picture on the front, but Strong Arm Steady are one of the few people that decided to have original artwork for their release. I think this is a really cool and good piece of art, but although it may not say "hip hop" it says that this is eye catching. This was designed by Munk One(http://www.munkone.com/) I'm glad I came across the 2DopeBoyz blog where they had the album art and their latest song. Click here to listen
Here is a video that you can show if you want to let people know about graphic design. Why does a British accent make everything sound a lot more sophisticated?
For those of you that don't know the clothing company Johnny Cupcakes, it is a cool Boston company focusing the designs around cupcakes. Mr. Johnny Cupcakes, John Earle, created this company as a joke and eventually it became a million dollar company. The designs are fun, clean, simple, and quirky. The tees are pricey, but Johnny Cupcakes likes to make only a small amount of shirts which make them exclusive. He's constantly releasing new designs and has a 3 shops, two in the Boston area and 1 in Los Angeles. He's about to open his 4th shop in London.
His branding is all about himself and being a fun and family type of guy. He's an everyday guy that inspires many people and his fanbase is huge. I've met him twice and he cares about his customers. He's always trying to come up with creative ways to get people involved and interested in his brand. The brand development is amazing and he's done something new that no clothing line has really played around with....animation. This is an animation promoting his London store opening. It may not be the greatest cartoon, but it gives him an edge of being the first one to do it and gives his customers something to look forward for. I've seen this video being passed along and I am continuing that as well.
I do think that his marketing of his brand is brilliant and worth looking at. If you are ever around to see one of his lectures, you should head to it. His style is unorthodox, since he didn't go to business school and dropped out of college. It's different, but I'm sure you may learn a thing or two that could be useful in your business.
Day 49-I admit this was rushed, because I was out all day and had about 2 minutes of free time. I still like the idea of the stick figure climbing up my page.
Day 50- Random sketches on one of my sketchbook pages
Day 51- I wanted to create a simple horror poster by learning this shadowy figure technique. I know what I want to do next time I create this design.
Day 52- I know I had to kick up my 365 days of creativity up a notch, so I sketching and came up with some I look forward to working with on the computer.
Wheatpaste has always been something that interested me in street art and graffiti. Check out this time lapse from the beginning to the end of this wheatpaste poster.
Here is the final result from the sketch that I was working on the last couple of days. I honestly had no direction, except that I wanted to create a simple face in Photoshop, instead of illustrator. I decided to work with shapes and I felt splatter could make for an interesting element in this illustration. Even though I used splatter in this design, I still feel as though the white background still makes this image clean, because it's very clear. The focal point was obviously the face, but I think the diamond in the background and the glimpse of the circle adds a nice a touch. If I even wanted to put this on a t-shirt it is already separated.

I'm not so much a fan of days 34 & 35, but you can see days 36 and 37 are progressing with an idea. I'm actually working on the continuation for day 38.

Day 37- You can view the progression when I brought it into Photoshop
Two great t-shirts are being sold on this site on the same day. Usually one will have a better design than the other or they both won't have anything good. Today they have great designs that play into the very popular, trendy, and money making nostalgic geek designs with a Art Nouveau Super Marios and a Superbowl fitting Transformers design.
I personally love the Peaches Nouveau and think it looks great. I'm not so fond of her face, but the overall concept is clever. The Cyber Bowl flips the Autobots and Decepticons in a great cool looking football theme. I definitely think both are worth purchasing, especially if you're a fan. They're only $9 and $10 for these designs, so it is a great price for cool art.
Limited Edition posters are great and make great art for your walls. Vectortuts has an article that I found very useful and think anyone who is looking into printing up their own designs should look into. They tell you with the methods you can get them printed like screen printing, open edition vs limited edition, and more . I do have a limited edition poster, but it's sold Branded Baron. Definitely pick on up, because it's only $4.99. I have my framed, but I'm definitely looking on making personal designed posters to sell in the future.
I've been busy lately, so I apologize for the lack of posts. I'm still working on my goal of creating art whether it's sketching or a full piece and will post, hoping I'll be to post that day of or at least the day after the latest.
Day 27
It almost looks like it that Banksy piece, except it's missing the flowers.
Day 28
Day 29
Day 30
I don't know why I put 2010, when it's 2011.
Day 31
Recreated this design I saw and used some different elements, because someone wanted it. Sometimes it's unbelievable how easy a design can be created.
Day 32
Day 33
Last couple days I've been focused on some Summer designs and it's definitely needed, since New York has been having snow storms lately.
I have recently acquired an iPad and trying to find the usefulness that people say it is. This particular video by David Kassan( http://davidkassan.com) makes me think there is a creative app that can be used on it. Although, he makes it easy to do, it is certainly not. This is very very good and I didn't think it was possible for the iPad. He states that the model sat in place for 3 hours while he worked this digital painting. Check this time lapse video out.
This is a very cool design was created by Jeff Proctor. This definitely brings back memories for me, when the Ninja Turtles were the pop icons that they were. Having the turtles be the only color was smart, because they definitely stand out.
